Press Statement from the Meeting of the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers with the Representatives of the Presidency of the Visegrad Group

Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, H.E. Halldór Ásgrímsson, met with the representatives of the Czech presidency of the Visegrad Group in Prague on 14 May 2008.

 

Two mutual topics for future cooperation between the Nordic Council and the Visegrad Group were set on the meeting. The first topic was climate-change agenda and related research and innovations in the field of safe energy especially in regard to the UN conference in Poznan in 2008 and in Copenhagen in 2009. The second topic included joint projects in Eastern Europe with the emphasis on Belarus.

 

H.E. Halldór Ásgrímsson, who is the former prime minister of Iceland and served for many years as minister, was accompanied by the delegation of the current Swedish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
