Altogether 171 scholarships have been awarded this year, which means that so far we have supported more than 380 scholars in the region altogether. For the 2008 deadline, the scholarship budget is increasing to €1,564,000, which amounts to a record 400 semesters. To see the awarded scholarships for the 2007/2008 academic year please see:

Scholars from the following list of countries can apply by the next deadline: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M.), Montenegro, the Russian Federation, Serbia, Ukraine and, of course, scholars from the V4 countries, i.e. the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and the Slovak Republic.

Also, the study period within the In-Coming scheme has been extended from 2 semesters to 4 semesters, which means that selected scholars may complete their Master's (or equivalent) degrees at their host universities. To learn more about these scholarships please see:

The next deadline for Visegrad scholarships is 31 January 2008.

III. VISEGRAD ARTIST RESIDENCIES

IV. VISEGRAD UNIVERSITY STUDIES GRANTS
The Fund is launching a new programme designed for university institutions in the early spring of 2008. The programme will offer lump-sum grants aimed at supporting the preparation and launch of new university courses or whole programmes, which explicitly deal with Visegrad countries phenomena. Any university (or organisational unit thereof, i.e. department, faculty, school or institute) will be eligible for the curriculum-building grant.

The first deadline for the "curriculum" grants is 15 February 2008.

VII. THE VISEGRAD LOGO WINS A PRESTIGIOUS AWARD!
Due to its original concept and design excellence, the Visegrad logotype (i.e. both the logo of the Fund and of the Group) was selected by the three-tier jury of the European Logo Design Annual (EULDA) for the "Best of Nation 2007" award. The logos of the Visegrad Group/International Visegrad Fund were selected during a logo competition which took place among students of graphic design of V4 countries in 2005. The winning logo was selected from 215 competing logos. Lucia Kleinedlerová from the Bratislava-based Academy of Fine Arts and Design is the author of the logo.
