The Czech Communists (KSCM) have outstripped the Civic Democratic Party in popularity, thus becoming the second most popular party, according to a poll conducted by the CVVM polling agency earlier in April and released on Wednesday. The elections to the Chamber of Deputies would be won by the opposition Social Democrats with over one-third of the vote. They would be followed by the KSCM with one-fifth of the vote. Some 63 percent of Czechs expressed readiness to cast their votes.
