Hungary expects the Ukrainian government to "put a restraint" on such nationalist groups as the one that has recently torn down a Hungarian flag from the town hall of Berehove (Beregszasz), Peter Szijjarto, the foreign minister, said in Brussels on Monday. Speaking at a press conference held on the sidelines of EU foreign ministers, Szijjarto said that the Hungarian foreign ministry summoned the Ukrainian ambassador over the matter. Szijjarto insisted that "such developments cannot be tolerated in a country aspiring for European integration". He demanded that the perpetrators should be identified and prosecuted.
